Services in Free Synagogue's Sanctuary, one of the most beautiful and historic in the metropolitan area, are held on Friday evenings. Men and women participate on an equal basis.

At the conclusion of the service, all are invited to enjoy refreshments and fellowship at an Oneg Shabbat held in the Social Hall.  A Bar or Bat Mitzvah is conducted on Saturday mornings as part of the complete Sabbath service.
 

Shabbat Worship Services...

Erev Shabbat Services are regularly held Friday evenings at 8:15 p.m. in our Sanctuary.

Our services are designed so that all in attendance, irrespective of Jewish background, will feel comfortable participating. Services are conducted in Hebrew and English. The majority of the musical portion of each service is designed for congregational participation. In addition, our Cantor, assisted by a professional choir, offers deeper insight into several sections of the liturgy in more elaborate traditional and modern musical settings.

Following Friday evening services the congregation is invited to an Oneg Shabbat where congregants may sit and relax over coffee and cake.  Once each month, Friday Evening Services are devoted to Family worship, and are led (in part) by the students of our Religious School.

During the summer months of July and August, Lay Services, led by members of the Congregation, are held in our air conditioned social hall.
 

High Holiday and Festivals...

The solemnity of the High Holidays is ushered in with Selichot, usually observed the Saturday night before Rosh HaShanah. The ten days from Rosh HaShanah until Yom Kippur are a period of reflection and self examination.
