Rabbi Weisser studied at Hebrew Union College, from which he received certification as a Cantor as well as Teacher and Principal Certification. He was ordained as Rabbi from the Rabbinical Academy of America.
Rabbi Weisser has received awards from many organizations including the ACLU and NAACP as well as an honorary Doctoral Degree from Hebrew Union College. A quote from the citation on the Doctoral Certificate reads: "...whose knowledge of Judaism, nurtured in the Rabbinate and Cantorate has made him an active voice on multicultural issues and social concerns...and whose committment to religion is manifested in the manifold bridges of understanding he has built beween various faiths."

Cantor Steven Pearlston received his degree in conducting from Occidental College in Los Angeles, his Certification in Jewish Education from the Haim Greenberg Seminary in Jerusalem, and his Cantorial investiture from Hebrew Union College in New York, where he was also involved in the School of Education. He studied opera at the Juilliard School, where he appeared with the American Opera Center. For four seasons he was affiliated with the Lincon Center "Arts in the Schools" program, in concerts designed to introduce teenagers to classical music in New York City High Schools, and has conducted master classes at Queensborough Community College. He has served on the music faculties of the State University of New York at New Paltz and the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in Manhattan, and has taught Jewish History at Marymount College, as Assistant Professor of Religious Studies.
Cantor Pearlston has presented his program "What is Jewish Music?" at synagogues throughout the United States. To his credit are several world premiere performances of compositions on Jewish themes at Merkin Concert Hall in New York, and the New York premier of "Gimpel the Fool" at the 92nd Street YMHA Jewish Opera Series.
Cantor Pearlston is the composer of a complete Shabbat Evening Service and arrangements of traditional liturgical melodies. Cantor Pearlston is a member of the American Conference of Cantors and the Association for Jewish Studies. His CD, "The Synagogue Music of Frederick Piket" is distributed by the Union For Reform Judaism.
